BLINK by Sightsavers – October 2019
To raise awareness of their ‘End is in Sight’ campaign, working to eliminate blinding trachoma, sight charity Sightsavers hired our riverside space gallery@oxo.
The immersive exhibition featured photography from famous names such as fashion photographer Nick Knight, the late David Goldblatt and photo journalists Kate Holt, Georgina Cranston and Tommy Trenchard.
As visitors viewed the digital photos in the exhibition, every blink they made caused the images to change, leaving the photos permanently altered. The results were unpredictable and unknown: an artistic interpretation of the vision loss that trachoma can cause.
‘We were thrilled to have the opportunity to exhibit BLINK at the Oxo gallery back in October. It’s such a fantastic venue and the team at Coin Street were such a pleasure to work with. The gallery attracts such diverse visitors and each visitor we spoke to found the theme of the exhibition (blinding trachoma) and the delivery (artwork that changes each time you blink) really quite moving‘.

The National Brain Appeal: A Letter in Mind – September 2019
The hugely popular ‘A Letter in Mind’ exhibition from The National Brain Appeal has been taking place annually at gallery@oxo since 2014 and each year hundreds of artists anonymously submit an envelope artwork, responding to a theme. This years theme was ‘Making Light Work’ and the line up of artists behind the envelopes included Olafur Eliasson, Tracey Emin, David Shrigley, Morag Myerscough, actors Sophie Thompson, Kevin Eldon and many more.
Each envelope artwork is priced at £85 and sold anonymously, buyers only find out the artist of their new piece after the sale has ended and all proceeds help the one in six affected by a neurological condition.
