Layla Andrews: Ahzun

Regrettably, this exhibition has been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.

You can keep up with Layla and her artwork on her website here, or on her Instagram here.

Layla’s new collection Saints is inspired by a small volcanic islands modification of country and Western music and culture.

Layla draws on her families lived experiences in St Helena, to deconstruct the notion that white masculinity is the primary element of country music and practice. She notes “the advocation of ‘cowboy’ culture is indisputably flawed and problematic. However the aspects worth celebrating; the sounds, community stories and bold style, exceeds the white South and can be found on a little island in the middle of the Atlantic.”

Layla will also be teaming up with Help Refugees, selling her limed edition and digital Choose Love prints to raise vital funds for displaced people and refugees across the Middle East, Europe and on the US/Mexico border.

Opening hours:

Tues 24 – Sun 29 March: 11am-6pm
