Alan Vallis designs and makes contemporary jewellery inspired by many diverse influences. His stacking rings are inspired by travels to the Middle East with glorious decorative patterns, textures and colours. He has been producing Stacking Rings for a number of years but they have gone through many transitions; what makes them special is the numerous permutations that the Alan can originate, dependent on the clients requirements. Alan often works to commission and his current Pevsner ring series features a totally different design ideal; the objective of presenting large specimen stones to their best advantage.
More recently Alan has been working on drop earrings a selection shown above; some with matched pairs of beautiful agates cut by specialised cutters in the USA, others using mixed metals and less expensive stones, resulting in a more affordable series.
Sometimes very special one off pieced originate from Alan’s workbench like the Turquoise necklace above with the large hollow silver form and oval cut Cognac coloured Citrine. This was immediately snapped up by one of Alan’s regular clients.
