The Conversation – a film set without a film

The Architectural Association InterProfessional Studio is a cutting edge department in the internationally renowned Architectural Association in London. Professionals from diverse creative disciplines and backgrounds collaborate in the design processes of exclusive interrelated projects!
An exciting new collaboration of international talents at the studio – creates a compelling events series -The Conversation, a Film Set without a Film. The project is launched with a performative installation at  Bargehouse, where the AAIS, NewMovement Collective (Dance), and the music Ensemble Distractfold, will merge architecture, dance, music, art and fashion. The event initiates further developmental explorations, and is followed by performances in Barcelona (June 2014) and Berlin (August 2014)!

The Conversation, is a performative playground of characters placed in the cityscape. The characters symbolise each element of the urban environment (sun, wind etc). Together the characters perform in relation to each other the synergy of urban and natural patterns. The characters fulfill repetitive roles defined as hybrid creatures: first, taking the shape of film set elements; while second, regenerating the urban pattern of the surroundings. The stage becomes the staging. The narrative is the film set. The audience will move through the set: sit, eat and drink within it. Audience members will create their own story, initiated into a conversation.
