The iconic Oxo Tower Wharf, home to 20+ design studios and exhibition spaces, including gallery@oxo and Bargehouse has joined forces with several other leading Bankside and South Bank based design destinations and businesses to launch London Design Festival’s newest design district- Bankside Design District. This newly announced design district will be the first district located south of the river.
Many exciting design based events and exhibitions will take place throughout Oxo Tower Wharf during the London Design Festival 19-27 September. There will also be opportunities to meet and talk with the designers themselves, who run successful design studios and shops across Oxo Tower Wharf.
Discover a unique community of design boutiques and studios offering a range of contemporary design products, with the opportunity to discuss the work with the people who created it. Several of the artists from Studio Fusion gallery will hold a series of informal talks on the theme of architectural jewels. Each artist will discuss their inspirations, designs and working practices.

Prestigious jewellery maker Mikala Djorup will be showcasing a selection of contemporary jewellery rooted in the Danish tradition for high quality and explorative design. Five female Danish jewellers will take over the studio in Oxo Tower Wharf and surprise us with innovative and exciting new work.

JeDeCo, Unit 1.17
JeDeCo (Jewellery Designers’ Collective) joins the London Design Festival with two interactive weekend events, held on Satuday 19 – Sun 20 September, and Saturday 26 – Sunday 27 September. Their designers will have tools ready to make your very own personalized identity pendant or bracelet on the spot, with letters, symbols and colours. This promises to be a fun project for creative people of all ages. Join in and be part of JeDeCo’s unique celebration of London design.
Graeme Mccolm, Unit 1.15
Contemporary jewellery maker Graeme Mccom hosts an an event with six Scottish based jewellers, entitled ‘Northern Lights’, This selling exhibition focusing on the diversity of designers working in Scotland today, each concerned with a different technique whether it be narrative, colour, material or scale.

Copper Pod, Courtyard Installation

University of Creative Arts will be using the Courtyard at Oxo Tower Wharf for a large scale copper pod installation.

AACDD (African & African-Caribbean Design Diaspora) will be exhibiting work from several artists and designers in Bargehouse, promoting the creative skills and talent of people of African and African-Caribbean descent.
