This December sees the return of London’s contemporary graphic arts event, The London Illustration Fair. Now in its fourth year, The London Illustration Fair 2017 will showcase the work of over 60 illustrators, graphic designers, creative agencies, collective, designers and print pioneers from the UK and overseas.
Taking place at South Bank’s four-storey majestic warehouse, Bargehouse, The London Illustration Fair 2017 promises cutting-edge collaborations with the hottest names in graphic arts, free ‘get stuck in’ making workshops and creative happenings.
Having welcomed over 9,000 visitors though its doors at last year’s extravaganza, The London Illustration Fair 2017 offers individual artists, collectives and businesses the chance to showcase fresh new work in a fun, interactive environment and get on the radar of illustration’s industry elite.
Launch Party: Thursday 30 November

Feast your eyes on new work by illustration greats including doodle-bomber Hattie Stewart and featured artist Marcelina Amelia, fresh from shows in New York and Stockholm. Between Stewart’s notorious magazine cover takeovers, and Amelia’s playfully dark images, visitors to the fair are in for a treat.
The Art of Ping Pong and our favourite scribbler Mr Doodle will be helping The London Illustration Fair serve up a menagerie of interactive games, all in aid of a good cause. Join internet sensation Mr Doodle as he covers an entire games floor with his distinctive ‘graffiti spaghetti’. Test your backhander as The Art of Ping Pong promote their charity auction, by bringing a selection of their beautiful artist designed mini tables to be played on. Profits raised from the games will go to Trekstock, a young adult cancer support charity.
Marvel as technology takes over the main gallery, where the machine becomes artist! Tech artist Damien Borowik presents his ‘Drawing Machines’ which create intricate mathematical designs live for the viewer. He will be joined by BAFTA winning artist and filmmaker Ian Gouldstone whose site-responsive software sculpture ‘Wanton Boys’ responds directly to the space’s architecture.
Be transported into the wild as Illustration Fair favourites Ben Rothery and Sandra Dieckmann lead the ‘Wilderness’ room – an exploration of all that’s weird and wonderful in the natural world.
Get hands-on with a workshop programme jam packed with have-a-go activities. Explore the history of record sleeve illustration, create your own graphic novel, and experiment with printmaking techniques. From beginners to wannabes to professionals, there are sessions to suit everyone.
Whether you’re discovering the freshest illustration talent, doing a spot of Christmas shopping, or taking advantage of our fully stocked festive bar, The London Illustration Fair has got you covered.
